This is a bit odd, but stay with me.

I need to convert a stock XS 650 frame into a hardtail. The snag is I don't have one.

So if you have one and you want it hardtailed.....

Basically you bring it to me, (I've already got a motor, forks and wheels so all I need you to bring / send me is the frame AND THE SWINGING ARM as long as yours is a disc rear), about two, three weeks later you come and get it and give me £100 to cover the materials.

Isn't that exciting.

You won't get any footrests with it, you won't get an electrics box or a mudguard either. Your standard fuel tank won't fit any more either and you'll need a seat.

Unsuprisingly, all that is do-able, but it's going to be dearer though if you've got a Sporty or Mustang tank to fling on there, then I expect I can mount that for you.

If you want a 180 tyre in the back of it, that's an entirely different conversation, I'm talking about hardtailing a stock frame to take the stock wheels, and I'm not talking about raking it either!

Oh. If your's is a drum rear brake, I'll need your wheel too.

With a bloody tyre on it!

Try poking Yambabe on BikersWeb or www.netbiker.co.uk

Think her old man may have a frame - or maybe its just the complete bike. Still, could be worth a try.

Yer,

That's a shaft drive that is. Might take a bit longer than a day to do 'ee....

I believe that various Virago wheels can be persuaded to work with the bevel box though, if you like a fatter one in the rear. So to speak.....
