Strangers on your bike?

Has anyone cought strangers sitting on their bike, and if you did, what did you say/do about it?

apparently there were two twats takin turns to sit on mine at the R&S, bouncing it up and down to see how the suspension worked..........
luckily (for them) they'd fucked off by the time i'd got my tent up and gone back to the car park to fetch it. :mad:

Had it a few times, most memorable was when we were down at pub, I was up getting drinks and the wife shot past me outside. I went out to find her with some woman and the wife shaking her about! Evidently she was on my bike and getting a pic taken! Dont mess with the wifes seat on me bike :D

Next was this year at Americana, a couple walking around and the wife goes to get on my bike, went up to her and told her "Its a fuckin SHOW, not a fuckin do what the fuck you want and sit on other peoples bikes!" they moved off quick :D

All the local wino's hang around by where we park our bikes at work, my mate has a harley and mine is a black survival thingy, they get a bit of attention. I am just waiting for one of the sods to try getting on one in an addled state...

It's not on, people for some reason think bikes are ok to climb on, but would not dream of getting in a convertible car.

i think im going to buy a bit of chainmail and weld a load of spikes to it and chain that to the trike seat... think they might think twice then :rolleyes:

was parked one day to find some scrote bouncing his daughter (what? 2 years old?) on the seat.

Pointed out to him that it could do permanent psychological damage to his kid.

The other time was when I parked the Harris up by the cashpoint and another female toddler went wandering off towards it. At the point where it became obvious she was about to grab hold of the exhaust I yelled at her and she burst into tears.

Slightly unbelivably her dad then started in on me.

There followed a bit of a lecture on just how much use a toddler's hand was going to be after the ensuing skin grafts, hotly pursued by another lecture on how it might be more sensible to be a touch more diplomatic in the circumstances...

Unless of course he was unemployed, in which case he would get his teeth fixed for free.

I do, and I've got a 32" inside leg. I can just touch the floor on tip toes...

Been riding bikes for over 30 years and no one has ever sat on my bikes without asking, it is such a strange thing for someone to do I can't believe it actually happens. Sheltered lifestyle maybe??.

Parked my Goldwing in the car park at the bottom of the commando memorial at Speen Bridge near Fort William.

Went up to the memorial to take pics and looked back to see a couple of old boys climbing on and off the bike taking pictures of each other. They were part of a coach party. I was a bit pissed off but couldn't get back to the bike quick enough to catch em..

When I did get back to the bike feckin tank was badly scratched where they had dragged their feet over it.

I went after the coach caught up with it and stopped it, got on and explained a few things....I was the one who ended up in the Police cells for fuckin hours....I wasn't getting off that coach till it was sorted.

Bastard Scottish pigs did nothing about it, I was fuckin mad! :mad:

Another time, same bike saw some bloke sitting his kiddie on the bike, followed him back to his car and as soon as he unlocked it I shoved him out the way and got in behind the wheel and started playing with all the knobs and switches. When I explaind, he still couldn't see what he had done wrong. Tosser!

Even my toddler knows not to touch the bikes. 2 very good reasons - one it might not be mine, and two bikes are dangerous - hot bits, sharp bits, leaky bits etc.

My brother in law used to let his son climb on his Elsie all the time cos the little lad was mad about bikes, little one couldn't understand why I wouldn't let him touch mine. Then one day i gets a phone call from the mother in law, little lad had moved the bike when climbing off it - it had come off the sidestand and pinned him to the garage wall for a couple of minutes.

It is funny how people do not see a bike as being something truly personal. They would never sit in someones car without asking, but see a bike? They think its all good to go and sit on it.

I go to alot of car AND bike shows, in both I stay a respectful distance and look, take pix, point things out but never touch.

Machines in shows are ones people have put ALOT of work into and something very personal and that should be respected.

When parked up anywhere else? Same applies, Joe public should know not to sit on peoples rides, they wouldn't do it to a car, so why a bike? Its smaller? It looks cooler? They want one but don't have the balls to get one?

I HAVE been asked on a few occasions, and if I know them I sometimes say yes, thats if I know and TRUST them, If I dont? Absolutely NOT. Maybe thats why they do it, they know if they ASK they will be refused?

I am not jealous of things I have, my friends know this, I rarely refuse to help or share things I have with them, but when it comes to the bikes? We won't do that to one anothers rides and we watch for others who would. I guess that comes down to bikers understanding that the machine is more than nuts and bolts, it is a living breathing part of you, something that (especially when riding) is very personal, it depends on you and you on it, a truer symbiotic relationship there can't be.

I dont mind the odd kid getting a picture taken on my trike at the odd rally, but get a bit pissed off when the adults use the big box on my rack for skinning up or putting thier beer on whilst they have a piss or whatever
(the box is an old wooden blanket box which fits exactly into my low level rack)

i nearly caused a family riot once when a nephew of me ex climbed on my bike without askin, and the little git had a stone in his hand. once i pointed out the cost of a new paint job had the little darling scratched the tank they backed down and went off to sulk quietly somewhere else.

I got barred from a pub in Bolton after I caught the landlord sitting on my GS without asking. He said it was OK because he used to be a biker himself, and made no effort to get off it, so I told him he had three seconds to get off it before I rearranged his face.

A scrote from the Sally Army hostel near where I work had great difficulty in understanding why I was trying to separate him from his bollocks when he messed with my bike. He never came back though.

The worst one, IMO was a dickhead I used to work with who thought it was funny to swap all my HT leads round. I discovered it straight away so there was no problem. The next day when I got in work, he asked me if I'd got home OK and I said "no, some bastard messed with my bike and the engine's holed a piston, so it's gonna cost a few hundred quid to put right, and when I find the twat who did it, I'm gonna kill him." The lad hid in the bogs for most of the day :D
