One of the largest air-cooled motors ever to power a motorcycle the 7-cylinder radial is the same type used to power aircraft during World War II and is believed to be the basis for the V-twin motorcycle motor. ...but how far down the road is a 7-cylinder radial motor going to go with a tank that big?

Its all gotta be different aint it, these big builders cant just knock out decent usable chops no more, they gotta be spewing out bollocks like that, which aint going nowhere except in magazines and on stages.

thats a display bike, its completely impractical as a road bike of any sort, for all sorts of reasons. I'm with Taff on this one.

Forgive me for my two penneth, but I always see these kinda bikes in the same way as concept cars in the motor industry. They may be outlandish and in many ways impractical, but some of the ideas get used in different ways on more 'mainstream' bikes...

But it wasn't until Daytona '85 that some innovative custom builder had the idea of wrapping the wheels in rubber to make the ride more comfortable. Even now the purists still mock 'softyres' as being a bit wussy. ;)

I see your point and agree, but only up to a point, we need people out there doing radical things to give us new ideas, but you are right in this case, its fecking pointless. More useable chops makes sense, rather than pointless endless engineering excercises or 'Art'.

Weren't there a merlin engined trike years back possibly called the bulldog??Obviously built by a nutter/genius(mr Ireland praps)??

Even if it was practical which it isn't, you would need to tow a bloody big tank to hold all the fuel you would use :(

I dunno - I'm quite up for it. So long as it's accepted for what it is (ie an engineering showpiece and not a useable bike) then what's the problem with folk trying different stuff?

Bit like your uber bling bikes in the mags. On a day to day basis, a lot of them to me are completely impractical. Doesnt mean they dont inspire or even entertain.

I have to say I really , really like Simple looking bikes. Fatty's to me are a great example of chops , both of the ones I have seen recently (pics only) have been very good variations on the theme.

chazz's chop I like and the look of Pagan Flames (I think it was recently posted). I do like 70's looking chops skinny with ridiculous pipes and sissy bars ... not really big on the fat arse end bikes of today..there are exceptions
