Anyone know of an alternative to gs650 stock carbs from a more modern bike???
mine are running mega rich previous keeper has opened everything up to lean them up to no affect?includeing messin with the needles.
It has an aftermarket 4 into one which may be restricting the motor maybe and some plonk has put single kn type filters on and not rejetted
Starts up ok just wont pull above 55mph and then murders the plugs.
Planning on putting an airbox on it if I can find a decent one will see.

Anyone of you people had one and rejetted remember the settings perhaps??

You sure that the "air screws" aren't in fact fuel screws?

Basically. winding the "air screws" out doesn't always make it run leaner, sometimes you have to wind them IN to make it leaner.

A lot of the time, you find that when some one has been messing around with carbs, then just going back to the factory settings for everything that is adjustable, is actually a big improvement......

Worth a go before you buy another set of carbs.

Go to the GSResources site,if you register and put a query on there there are a couple of blokes who know more about carbs than the staff at Mikuni. It's a Sherman site, but don't let that put you off.

gs resources been moochin here top site.

These are definety air screws the chap who owned it before me has been faffin about tryin to lean it up it was a contant prob runnin rich. He also set the needles to low not sure what the factory spec is so will reset them to middle for now and run it and see. Floatheights are bang on though.

Reason I want new carbs is one of the air screws does not screw in as far as the others not sure if its supposed to do it or not but figured a spare set would not do any harm when set to factory specs it sits way proud of the other 3 screws for some reason?
