vw trike registration

Hi everyone
i recently finished building a vw trike and have no clue how to go about getting it on the road,do i have to mot or sva first, the part of the chassis which had the vin number on has gone,any help will be very appreciated

sounds more like he's knicked it and is trying to get it re-registered
