I was given a proper motorbike bulb horn as a leaving pressie when I left the paper earlier this year (I think it might have been a joke...) - is it legal for MOT purposes?

Unfortunatley not anymore - horns have to be electric these days.
Shame, I had a bulb horn on me old Suzuki X5 years ago, was a bit of a laugh

A motor bicycle first used before
1 August 1973 may be fitted with a bulb
horn.
