a guy at work with an ER5 has a wierd problem, left hand indicators flash about twice as fast as the right hand side
bulbs are the same left to right, hes got mini indicators on the front, standard on the back, all even with regards to wattages
why would it flash faster on one side than the other
is the relay in two parts, so possibly a capacitor or resistor inside has failed or is dying??

Could be a poor earth Tony - Check all connections and earths first.

Mini indicators run different to std bulbs drawing either more or less power - cant remember which way round but you need to change the indicator relay. Had it recently on a mate's bike - he fitted R1 LED indicators to an FZR600 and they were flashing too fast. All fixed with the R1 relay. Pain in the arse as it's an MOT failure too.

Yep I concour with the wise words above, indicator relay.
Had the same on an old v-max, BUT both new ones flashed fast.

yeah understand that mini indicators make it flash faster
BUT
bike has mini fronts, standard rears, so left and right hand side of the circuits are the same, so how the hell does one side flash far faster
trying to find a spare relay, but I thoguht the relay just controlled the main power, the switch sends the flashing power to the required side of the bike??
or maybe Im wrong, dont own and havent owned a bike with wimpicators for years LOL

you might want to check for a high resistance join in other words a poor connection anywhere in the circuit...this could even be in the good side as some of the flasher units work on the resistance (load) of the circuit...so a poor connection on the good side coupled with a low wattage indicator could cause one side to work correctly...when you cure the connection you may have BOTH sides flashing too fast, and you will have to either change the indicators or the flasher unit or both.....John

as john sayas. also swap the left bulbs over to the right side, as a faulty bulb can cause this to happen.

I had that with some mini indicators - they were the wrong wattage and so flashed too fast
