i am thinking of makeing a tow bar mount to fit to the back of the van to take the trike to a garage to be set up .all i was going to do was make a bracket to take the front wheel and tie it down is this a good idea or not? all it would be is a box section mount that bolts on to the vans tow bar

ive heard of folks getting bent forks towing a trike like that, if possible best way is get it trailer'd

YOU can use this type as it allows for the rake.

the only other considerations you`d need to think about are;
the weight your placing on the back of the vehicle towing
any possible extra stiffening req`d to the points where the towbar joins the van
the un-braked weight of the trike, you don`t want to trike trying to overtake you if you have to do an emergency stop en-route.
its probably why more people are ditching the use of dollies, in favour of trailers when towing cars
