if you have ever seen chamaeleon paint with its multi hues, depending on the angle its viewed from.
you may also know that the stuff costs an arm and a leg and then some..

autopaint do a range called "sfx"

i have just sprayed a trike shell with a indigo/blue basecoat, and then 250ml thinned to 500ml of red sfx paint.
even before appling clear the effect is very good.
it changes from blue to green to copper to red.

and only costs £20.00 per 250ml which when thinned is enough to do a 3 seater shell.
it is 2k based and not the more finicky water based.
i've never had probs with autopaints products.
although i don't use their clear lacquer as i think the stuff i use is better.

What laquer do you use with autopaint,I am building a VW trike and cant make up my mind what to use,and as I am on a budget (read-F**k all money,as the bloke I am building it for only supplies bits once a month, then pays me ) Finding bits need replacing,ie bearings/bushes/shox,money is a bit short,so 500ml of paint to do a body will do this one.

i use house of kolor lacquer. which is tough but not brittle.

autopaints lacquer is fine. not as good as some but better than many.
don't use an antibloom thinner. rather wait for a better day.
make sure you put on enough if you are covering a mettalic base so that when you flat it you don't run the risk of hitting the base coat and ruining the flakes which are only basically small pieces of plastic.
if you are spraying on grp then 2k is best as celly can and often does crack as it does'nt flex well
