anyone got any ideas how I get the Dragstar decal off the tank? They don't seem to be screwed on and I really do not want to dent the tank prying them off.

(That orange flavoured label remover from RS components is brilliant decal remover but I've only got 1 tin left and YOU'RE not having it. :p . Sorry.)

decal was probably the wrong word. I meant the hard plastic tank badges.

Don't know how they are fastened on but try spraying WD40 all round the joint every day for a few days. That stuff eats most glues, It's about all it's usefull for. If you're going to paint the tank after, get some good cleaner to get rid of it.

How do you know what flavour it is...I didn't even know it came in different flavours... :D John

You could try working a bit of fishing line (or similar) behind it then 'sawing' through the adhesive on the back. This is how they come off Kawasaki VN 1500's.

Regards

Mick

PS. A little heat may also help - use a hairdryer or similar.

If they're the same as the Wildstar and glued on you've just got to be brave and pull from one end... that's if they're the same.

Yep!

the hair dryer is the way to go... has worked in the past for me and the dragstars decals are stuck on with sticky backed foam. You should be able to still use them afterwards as well..

use a hairdryer to warm them up ( not to melting point though) and that should loosen the glue off enough to get them off
