change it for something better....
seriously, I believe there was a thread with a link to a Reliant Tuners on this site somewhere. You will have to trawl back through the threads, unless somebody else remembers it. Good luck!

It will actually be a Reliant robin Or Rialto motor. Call it a Robin Reliant and you won't get much help on any of the Reliant Websites.
The easy way to get a bit more is to go electric with the and fan and also the fuel pump if You're not using gravity. Then try locating the carb from an early 850 Fiesta Ford and using that. A 4 branch exhaust manifold also helps as does a ported 750cc head. Electronic ignition can make a big difference to cleaner starting but is a bit fiddly to sort out, for a cheaper and much simpler alternative, fit the 'points assisted unit' sold by Maplins Ltd.
Gain will be up to about 55 bhp with that little lot. Much more work of an engineering nature will be needed if you want any more.
thanks for the help it,s a 850 rialto ;)

are you after more power, or more speed? more power involves a bit of tuning work, but if its speed you want, why not fit larger rear wheels and up the gearing a little, as now you arent dragging several hundredweight of glass fibre bodywork round with you, it may pull a bit higher gearing, this also has the effect of making it feel a bit less frantic when cruising, as the motor isnt revving its nuts off.

hs 14 inch vauhall sri rims on my reliant trike, with low profile tyres on em, just about spot on gearing wise, would sit comfortably at about 75/80mph, not much to be gained by going over 70 though except hammering the fuel consumption.

I ain't got reliant robin engin; I do however have the axle on back o' mi GL 1000 bike. I am interested in what you are all saying about the gearing made greater by fitting larger wheels at the back! Will, this work with mi bike trike? at the moment she has Nova alloys fitted, I have bin looking for the wire spoked effect wheel's, like used to be on the old Vauxhall Caviler CD's/SRi's. Can you over do it by putting too bigger wheel on a biketrike? My front wheel is 16 x 110/90 tyre do I have to take that into consideration as well as engin type and cc (size)?
Sorry, if I an't being clear! I got loads to ask, not very good at putting them in order! (Bloody Tarmac done half addle your brain when you've hit it a few times at speed) ;)

The Bigger The Wheels Makes The Gearing Higher Smaller Wheelers Make Gearing Lower With Bigger Wheels Top Speed Would Be More But You Need A Lot More Cc To Pull Bigger Wheels As For Robin Relant They Have Not Got A Lot Of Pulling Power As They Only Have 10" Wheels as for a bike engine it has more power so you should be alright with bigger wheels
