View Full Version : MoT place?
Aaargh, my friendly and lenient MoT place in Dorset has stopped doing trikes. Anyone know of one who isn't put off by a lack of mudguards an' stuff like that?

You should try living here!! The test centre doesn't allow LED lights without EU labels, nuts and bolts that are too "sharp" at the corners.......

I phoned a place near me about 3 years ago and asked if he did class 3 MOT when he said yes I booked my Reliant trike in for it's test.
When I got there he looked and said "that's not a Reliant" I showed him the log book and said "that's what it says here". John (the mot tester) says "I wouldn't know where to start" So I said "that's ok, I'll show you".
So my mate Stan and me done my own MOT and showed John how to go on.
He's a lot more clued up now. So if anyone wants an Mot in the County Durham area (that's in the north east of england. Not like some people think, Ireland)
give The Grove, Consett a ring. He really puts himself out to help.
We should have a register on here for trike MOT station's

I haven't dropped anyone in it, The tester said himself he had to test it as he was a class 3 test station but he didn't know how all he'd ever done was Reliant's. We used the MOT tester's book and also found out that the handbrake only has to operate 1 rear wheel which we weren't even aware of.
