I know this sounds like a bit of a daft theory, but I've just taken the battery off the bike and seen the wires going from the Alarm - I don't suppose anyone's come across a Tristate TRS100 Alarm before? It's got a couple of wires, one going to live and one to earth amongst others that that have been attached to the wiring loom somewhere under the battery box. There are also various lugs on the side of the frame which would take a bolt through (as in to earth the alarm properly).
My theory is that if the alarm hadn't been wired up correctly (as I don't think it will have been), it would 'think' that someone is trying to hotwire the bike therefore immobilising it?

Mitch 1st thing to try is with ignition on get multimeter out and check if there's any live feed from ignition to coil if not completly disconnect the alarm from the battery, then try it, if it goes the immobaliser is wired up wrong.
Had the same problem on my bike, solution junk the alrm.Hope this helps.

I had a situation on a 1200 Bandit, which was causing it to cut out in mid flight. VERY SCARY. It had a top notch immobiliser that had been fitted professionally. I unpicked all the wires - which had been soldered into the Suzuki loom and junked the alarm. No problems ever since. I've had similar problems with various cars and always junked the alarm system.
Alarms cause more hassle that they are worth.

Not if there are thieves about, but I know what you mean. After the accident with the duke the alarm packed up. Engineer says it wasn't accident as it never happens to others, but lots of peeps try it on! I pointed out to him there might be a possibility that they were not trying it on and that he was just dismissing valid claims. Did get new alarm fitted in the end. :mad:
