If the person who is the high bidder at the moment goes all the way and wins the trike, bear in mind that he has got no feedback rating. This is where you can check how they've handled sales in the past, ie paying on time, not letting people down etc.
Everyone has got to start to build their feedback up from zero though so this shouldn't put you off.
If I was you I'd put an addition to your ad and say that as soon as the auction finishes you need the winning bidder to e-mail or phone you straight away and give you their name, address and landline phone number so that you can make arrangements for collection. Also if they say they aren't coming to fetch the trike till next weekend ask them to put you a cheque for a good deposit (a couple of hundred quid) in the post first class and pay a tenner at your bank for 24 hr express clearance. That will show that they are serious.
Also cynical as it seems, if you do get let down, in "My EBAY", in "Items Sold", click on send offer and it will give you the details of the next highest bidder and you can contact them if need be to offer them the sale.
Hope this helps.

Think its going well !,but life has a way of slaping you in the face when you least expect it.As things stand at moment will close sale early as the top bider at the moment is offering to pay the full price in cash first thing in the mourning.as long as the top bid is his when he arrives ,will do the deal.and close the auction.as cash is king in my book  thanks again for the advice T/D,new at this e-bay stuff but it all seams to work ok.will post tomorrow let you know how it turned out.

i sold a bike recently on ebay,i would advise you to put an extra wording in "all serious buyers please email me direct" i was defalted on twice.you then have to start all over again!keep a record of all intrested parties, write reciepts out as sold as tried seen & tested get buyer to sighn it,& keep a copy.that said theres some real bargains on it,some **** too,did a run to cheshire to look at a honda 900 trike on ebay friend won auction at£2500 we got there, was a death trap worth £500 we walked away.glad we did he bought the winner of speadfreaks the day after.its at mfn with mine most weds, will both be at the shows this year.wish knew how to post pics here.sort one day! toots.

Well its been a very long day but it all turned out good for every body. my buyer turns up and offers me a substancial amount more than the hiest bidder .And he was the highest i sent him a mail with a code word in it just to make shore. buyer happy with price I am very happy with price . Im paid in full with CASH .buyer pays me to deliver to west coast,3 hours to drive trike there .6 hours for the railways to get me home. But its all done and dusted, yes the bids may have gone above the price agreed. but in my book cash is king. i settled for a fair price buyer happy i have green backs i am very happy . if i had hung on the bid may have grown but unless the cash is in your mit . so i with drew it from ebay auction. e-bay worked for me ,the trike was on a 10 day auction in that time over 2,000 people had looked at the trike.my buyer found me through e-bay system.Would like to thank the people that helped me make this sale a sucess, you know who you are.I made a Big mistake on the e-bay form and did not put in a fixed reserve. but other than that e-bay worked for us will use it again and would urge others to do the same.thanks toots its all a trust thing in the end. I treated all inquires the same ,also posted a fair state of machine as i see it . the pics helped as well. Now its time to play with my new toy ,The V8 trike ,get it on.
