I'm trying to build a Trike at the moment and am having real problems finding the right shocks for the job. I can't do much more until I get something.
My idea is to have a go at building a leaning trike. Now this could be a complete disaster and I end up on by back in a ditch with the bike on fire beside me but it might be fun getting those 200yards.
It's going to be a compact job, well actually it's a Cub 90 with a Racing 140cc engine in it. I managed to get a decent rear axle for a golf buggy which has the advantage of a spined shaft on the left side for a sproket to go on.
Anyway my idea at the moment is to have a monoshock at the rear for the main suspension. But what I'm looking for is two shocks that can allow the bike to lean under the power of the rider. These have to be long travel details below:-
1. They are 50cm eye to eye but if they are a bit shorter it will not matter as I can build risers for them.
2. The travel has to be around 20cm.
3. The softer the better. They are only to provide a bit of resistance against the rider.
I’m around 11 stone and the weight of the bike is minimal.
The angle of mounting is 55 Degrees if that is any help.
I would prefer if they were adjustable to experiment with as this will be trial and error.
I've been in touch with some dealers with no luck and Hagon the closed they have are 420mm damper with 120mm stroke.
Any help greatfully apreciated.
Cheers,
Aidan

DON'T MIND THE SHOCKS ON THIS IT'S ONLY TO KEEP IT STRAIGHT FOR LINING THE ENGINE IN. THE ONES I HOPE TO GET GO FROM THE TOP OUT TO THE WHEELS 50CM.
