to improve the handling, I`m considering altering the width / wheel base of a camping trailer that I`ve got to increase stability at speed. the current wheel base is only 44 inches wide compared to the trikes 62 inches wide.and the distance from the tow hitch to the "T" of the chassis is 62 inches. would widening the wheel base on the trailer chassis increase stability? or is there a any other way that I might improve stability?
I`ve tried a anti - snake bar but I ain`t convinced its working

Factors that affect trailer stability at speed.
1. If a trailer wheelbase width is increased, the distance from the trailer axle to the towing vehicle rear axle should be increased. The longer the trailer, the more stable, except 2.
2. Too great an overhang at the back of the trailer will reduce stability.
3. The trailer axle must be at right angle to direction of pull.
4. A slight camber outwards at the bottom of trailer wheels will aid stability.
5. Wider trailer tyres will aid stability, together with 6.
6. Lowest trailer tyre pressure for type of tyre, load, speed, helps stability.
7. Low trailer centre of gravity and 'correct' load distribution essential.
8. Towing vehicle; distance from rear axle to hitch point should be as small as possible.
For any towed trailer, there is a speed at which it will start to oscillate.
In my experience, load distribution on the trailer is the greatest variable, and the easiest to change.
One more thing; what are the weights of trike vs loaded trailer? There are legal and safety requirements for this ratio.
Dunno if this helps.
