Buying new helmets

Need advice. Is it wise to buy a new helmet which is on display. Sales person says this is standard practise?

Bollox to them try the display on for size then get a new one off the shelf.

As knuckle says. Try on the display one and then get a new one from stock. Only reason they want you to buy the display one is because it has been in stock and on display longer than 90 days so they have had to pay for it.

If it was me, I would insist on a brand new one out of the box. If they don't want to do that tell them to shove it and go elsewhere.

Never buy the show helmet, god knows how many times its been dropped. Even with the boxed helmet check the manufacture date, make sure its not been sitting in the stock room for years....

Also hold onto the display lid while they go get a new boxed one. the sly gits might do a box swap on you.

My first two were old stock and were on display, but they were fine, and they were mighty cheap which suited me at the time. My current one was shiny and new and was bought as a christmas present for me and I love it :)
