i am thinking about putting a set of k&n filters on do i need to rejet and is their any truth in the fact that when it rains hard the filters suck in water and stop the bike also does any body know what size jets to use if they do need rejetting thankyou

Re jetting is trail and error unless you get it dynoed then it is done for you.
As to the rain, the oil that comes with K &N or other filters mean this is not a prob as a rule.
Unless it is very heavy rain and your filter is stuck out right in the air stream.
I have never had any problems.

Reckon you would need to rejet - more air coming in will need more fuel to keep the bike from running lean.
Unless you were too rich to start off.
You will need to rejet - try Maxmoto in Bury St Eds for dyno work, tell 'em I sent you, yeah, Ian the boss is a mate.
Or ask Shaun - he might be able to tell you wot y'll need to do off the top o' his head.
Going to Ipswich Saturday? The FU MCC bike show? :)

hi,
Be worth looking at 900r sites as top ends are interchangable.Someone will at least be able to offer a starting point.

rule of thumb when fitting k&n type filters and ditching the airbox is go up 30% on the main jet size. this should make it rideable. if you're lucky, (like i was on mine), it'll be pretty much spot on. but get it dyno'd anyway.
Eddie, spoke to Shaun this morning and he says that if you just go up two notches on the needles that should do it - those motors respond well to K&Ns apparently. :)
