Anybody know where I could get 10" rise 7/8" diameter Western bars in stainless?Fed up with rusting chrome.......
I believe our resident welsh bike shop proprietor may be able to help.

Hmmm..
I just checked with my stainless supplier.
7/8" OD 304 stainless tube is getting thin on the ground, you can get 22mm, but the the controls will fall off.
I can get 1" OD. I can get 25mm bar. If I turned the bar so that it was 7/8" at one end, and a decent fit in the tube at the other, I could make 1" bars with 7/8" ends. Not wildly cheap though, and you'd either need 1" risers or reduced bits for the clamps.
This probably explains why a lot of smaller cruisers now seem to have 1" bars...
I mention this simply because, I can bend tube accurately enough to make bars, and I can knurl them.
Expecting hand made to order bars to be cheaper than off the shelf ones, would be a little silly.

While it is true I'm not a bling Magpie like the mighty Yoda I do like a small bit of shiny hence the non-painted engine casings, stainless sidepanels and a shiny (xs750) headlight.I don't think that black bars would look that great unfortunately, but I might just indulge in a pair of yer chrome ones (and loads of Autosol).Won't be until after NABD at the very earliest.
Blackjack, thanks for the offer but it'd be a hell of a lot of arseing around trying to sort out the top yoke (standard GS) to take 1" bars.

I'm trying to track down someone who sells suitable wall 7/8" stainless tube.
If I have any joy, I'll mention it.

He dont need reducers he Needs 7/8 bars to fit his yokes, you cant reduce em bigger :D another reason other than the yokes Dougie is the switchgear lever mounts etc......... I had a set of bars made for the trike in the end. 1 & 1/4" basrs wich reduce down to 7/8 at the ends.
