Mates just put a 1200 bandit lump in his chop. paid to have it dyno'd, jets sorted etc and on the rolling road it pulls like a train, soon as he gets it out on the road it goes nice up to 70 then runs like a pig until you get it up to 95+, took it back to rollin road and its perfect.
He's running K&N type filter ( 2 carbs to one filter)
Anyone else had this problem and found a way round it?
Was thinking bout making up some deflectors for the air filter?
Any ideas appreciated

I know a mate of mine had the same prob with his VFR400 , bought a HRC race kit (air box jets etc) and had it dyno tested and it said it was running rich so they set it up and came up well on the dyno run but on the road it was running like a bag of nails , he ended up setting it up by trial and error , changing settings and jets bit by bit and riding it and checking colour/condition of plugs after each test , took alot of time but got it running nice in the end , he was just glad his dyno runs were free as he was owed a favour :) , good luck with the mine field of setting up . sorry cant be of anymore help .

Yep he's played with the jets checked plug colour etc
Reckon there's too much air getting in, but will keep playing

Tape up the filters to see if that makes any difference. Did he use the original CDI? How does it feel? Splutter or just lack of power? Checked all carb rubbers? .... just thoughts.

if he paid to have it jetted/set up,tell him to take it back and tell them it's running like a bag of ****e on the road.
Lift the needles one notch.
