:D Passed the Mot, no hazards, no handbrake cable to both wheels, no problem, I am well happy! It came out with a comment for future, new tyer for front.
I am still going to fit, hazard lights, and make so handbrake is braking both rear wheels, though!
I am in the middle of moving up to Scotland, so next year I'll be at the mercy of a different tester!!!!!!!!!!!!
Cheers everyone, for your input, help and advice! This is the best site, without a doubt!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! :D

up north,
my problem is compounded by the fact most trike MOT stations are only equipped to test trikes that weigh around the same as a reliant robin, where as my trike weighs in at 840kg, and several test staions in the past have refused me a MOT on the grounds of their equipment isn`t suitable to lift/test a trike of 840kg (which is about the ONLY reason they can refuse 1) but I have a regular MOT test man who knows the trike and has ridden it as well

Either your mate is telling huge porkies,or you have just dropped a great mot station in the sh*t.No tester in their right mind would give out an mot without testing it,(even though we all wish they would) their licence would be gone straight away and the ministry send officials out all day every day checking test centres.and in the unlikely event somebody like this tester exists, ffs dont give out details on a forum that can be viewed by all and sundry

Had my V-Max trike MOT'ed just before Xmas by the same centre that MSVA-ed it a year ago (over here in Northern Ireland *all* test centres are government run).
They didn't ask about hazard lights (although they are fitted) - lack of hazard lights was a reason they failed it on its original MSVA.
They didn't comment on handbrake only locking nearside wheel - not even sure if they noticed.
Took 5 minutes total:
- they spent a couple of minutes "visually assessing" the rear of the trike and pressing down on shock, got me to put front brake on and to lean down on the forks
- lights check next (no comment about my headlights having a "wedge" of electrical tape covering the right-side kickup.
- that was basically it.

There's a trike testing station in Grimsby. Does a good job on mine. Hand brake - one wheel only, no hazzards although I did have to fit a rear fog light and a front registration plate (with selotape !!)
Passed like a good 'un !

Is your's a car trike? Number plate never came in to question, for mine; I put that down to it being a bike trike.
The more I hear! the more I believe, it depends on who, what time o' day and where you have um tested? Ho! plus if the guy tester is having a good day!!!!!!! :)

This is exatly the sort of thing I'm on about.
Due to the weight and derived powerplant/running gear etc a heavy trike is MOT'd as a car, and my own testers said that strictly speaking that it should therefore have a front numberplate, but reason prevailed.

So, In what I asked in another posting/thread, is true? The rules can be cut, shut an' even shifted to different degree's; deepending on what the trike is? Either car or bike derived! :)
It dose seem that way! Dun't it? The guy who thought them up, an' the guy's who are supposed to apply 'em, seem to read an' see 'em differently!
It would good if we could set up a Triker Friendly Station Site; o' corse without dropping anyone in it!

this can be applied to everything in life where decisions are left to an individual.......judges, driving test examiners, doctors, job hiring interview type people, traffic wardens, beauty contest judges, council planners, God etc etc

you need to watch your mouth boy ! for a start read my reply properly, did i call you a liar ?and as only mot centres that are class 3 licenced can do trikes, and there isn't that many about, then it aint hard to work out who you were on about is it . and as i am licenced to mot then yes i am a clever twat !
