Thinking of a 17" wheel conversion on a 900r heard rumours that the zzr600 rear wheel fit with minor adjustments and the front end is a swap over anyone done this?
Or will the 900r take an 1100 zzr swingarm easily???

the later 900r had a 17 inch wheel iirc.
Yep. Early 900R had the 16 inch and later models, A7 and A8 had the 17 inch front wheel.

Yep tis true but i want 180 size ish on the rear think the stock swingarm will take at a push 160 thinking along the lines of the zzr1100 swingarm maybe.
Wanting to swap the front to beef up the brakes and forks once its up and rolling can set about the bars ect.
You might also need to space out the front sprocket in order to clear the extra tyre width.

If its any use i have a ZZR1100C swing arm, shock, and linkage.
You can have it if you can get it from up here in Northumberland to you.

Have a look at ZZR1100 front sprockets, some of them have an offset if I remember wot the great guru of l/c Kwaks said. :)

Don't change the rear end of GPZ without getting rid of the 16'' front first. Both my bike and my doner parts bike were crashed when fitted with an oversize rear. My front washed out on ice at slow speed and the donor bike highsided it's ex-owner into a shogun and then self destructed.
The 16'' front is notorious for giving little feedback before it lets go - why do you think the sports crowd moved away from them.
You just need a later 900 front end (or even just wheel I think) which also increases tyre choice
