Very loud tapping coming from the top of the engine, getting worse. Plenty of oil, will stripe tomorrow...
Could the most likely candidate be the rocker belting on the cover?
CG125's make a noise?
Probably the tappet come undone.

Thats what I am hoping, it wouldn't be the first time.

loose tappet sounds fave. cg motors are pushrod ohv motors so the heads are prety low tech simple things.
I hope you all made 'the holy sign of the pushrod' when thinking and talking about this engine. It's the first rule of Honda

I know that one well... stripping my old CX outside the despatch company office where I used to work years ago! Had to take the bike up in the lift as the office was on the first floor of an industrial unit! :D

By the push rods you mean the system that links the cam shaft to the rocker.
Checked the oil (fine), rocker (fine), tappets (fine), cam shaft (fine - no free play)...
Its coming from alot lower down towards the bottom end of the pushrods... So I'll have to take all the top end off to see and I'm way to busy with the house/garage and extra shifts at work.... bugger!

if its something in the bottom end, it'd probaly be easier to buy a new engine, they're usually only coppers anyway!
