Could do with some additional lighting on my bike, but can't run owt else off the battery. Thought about cycle lights but they're well unstable at speed. Anyone any ideas?
I'm looking to do it as cheap as poss.

do you want extra lights to see where your going. or extra lights so people can see you?
if the latter then go for leds:)

Why can't you run anything else off the battery? Are you already up to the maximum output for your alternator? If not, should be no problem I would have thought; if so, could you fit a higher rated alternator or battery?
Why do you need extra lights anyway?

Need extra lights to see where I'm going, the Fazer ones are ****e. It's the alternator that can't handle any more. I wouldn't know where to start with uprating it, plus it sounds pricey.

what bike is it. i think its pretty much the most important thing we need to know, make ? model? year? and electrical system 6v or 12v? if its 6v, you can get halogen headlight bulbs to up the lighting power of the headlight. ive a 35watt halogen 6v bulb in my ancient bsa, and its light years ahead of the standard one.

You don't need extra lights mate, you need better lights.
As your Fazer should already have Halogen lights (if it's running the standard headlights) you could try Zenon bulbs. If they're not the standard lights and they've been changed to an older, non-halogen one then fit Halogen bulbs.
As far as the alternator goes, Electrex might do an uprated one. Shouldn't be too pricey I wouldn't have thought.
Alternatively, you could just clean your lights occasionally :D (running......)

You're actually onto something there mate, I am a bit lax with the old cleaning! Some flies seem to have become permenantly attached they've been there so long. I'll have a look at the uprated alternator cheers.

Sounds silly but I thought the lights on my previous car were crap till I gave 'em a good clean - felt a right twat (nowt new there then :D).
What light you got on there at the moment? If you're running one of the cheaper "streetfighter" style twin light conversions, some of them are a bit crap but nowt that can't be fixed with better bulbs.
As always, try the cheap stuff first. You know where I am if you need any help.
Fit one of these.

You have plenty of power as I see it.No need to uprate alternator just seems like a waste of time to me.
New fangle bike like that should manage a pair of spots no bother.Or just run one on dip and one on main-least you'll see better:D
Cheapo spots of great big fugg off cibies, choice is yours.
Wiring them up is easy an all.
