Hi
My belt snapped on my Sunbeam on the weekend, can't really complain it was an old Sturgis belt which we cut up to fit.
Now I don't know if I can get one but I'm after a belt about 28mm wide and about 139-141 tooth long, or in other words its a HD883 pulley set but I need the length of the longer types. Is it possible to get one?
Can anyone one point me in the right direction, as usual cost is also an issue.

Thanks Lowrider,
Looks like none of them have the width I need. Also the Buell engine might pull them apart :)

There was also a chap mentioned in one of the custom mags a little while ago. Will try to find it.

Thanks Pegleg
I've sent them a email. You never know. I'm sure there must be someone out there who makes these belts. I'm not the first person to design a bike using a 883 pulley setup that needs to be longer.
Thanks

Hmm
Just had an email from a eBay seller who has the following:
Belts cone in 2 widths 1 1/2" (38mm) or 1 1/8" (28.50 mm). both will be available with 139T, if either of these widths is OK please let us know and we will price for you.
Like I said I've used a 883 pulley setup which I have measured as 33mm, what's that size in old money?
Wondering if I could get away with the 1 1/8" belt, sounds thin. My old belt snapped as I was winding her up... :)
Hmmmm...

Dunno if it's any use, there are companies like Forward 2000 and Wyko who stock all sorts of drive belts, whether they'd have anything to suit your bike i don't know, but they've always been able to sort me out with bearings, oil seals etc at a fraction of the price of buying em from a bike shop.
Also don't know if they operate in Ireland, but it'll only take a google search to find out!

Thanks chickenfoot, I've sent a email to Wyko, again lets see what they say. Problem is the Sunbeam rally is fast approaching and I need to get it sorted b4 then :/
Hmmm hangon me thinks my dyslexic (speel checked) has kicked in again... I'm re-checking the old belt...... Whats that about measure twice and cut once.....
Looks like the 1" 1/8 belt will fit... Thank for help.... now to see if I can get it at the right money...
