Doesn't matter which way round the wheels are as long as they are symetrical. There may not be any legal definition about it in the pond you sit in but there is in ours.

Steering wheel, sitting in it , car type front suspension and steering box make it a car trike.

Handlebars, sitting on it and direct steering make it a bike trike.


Its a waste of a good bike engine.

If you want to post and boast, why don't you put it on a site where it belongs like R3w with the Reliants, Morgans, Peel's , Bonds , Grinnel's and Curvers etc. There are also a few kitcar makers that produce kits similar to your machine but at least they have the decency to call them what they are, KITCARS

If you want to see a proper trike with 2 up front, try and find pics of the one sbeachill built last year. The one's that were on this forum have now gone but someone maybe able to find them for you.

I'm not arguing with you it is a car type trike, but it's still a trike proper or not, I never seen anything here that the Trike forum was only for single front wheel bike type trikes, as I remember seeing a Blackjack Zero in the last issue of Trikes magazine. I guess on your opinion that does not belong in there either as that is also a car based trike with a bloody steering wheel.

It is a stock Suzuki Hayabusa 17 inch rim with a Stock 195/40/R17 Yokohama
S.Drive Car Tire, Stock Hayabusa rear swingarm, no modifications, it has the same clearance as the 190 motorcycle tire that comes standard on the busa.

Beading is different and tyre sizes differ also, you will have problems.

Plus in this country Its a matter of law, do it if you arent bothered just remember insurance will be a issue in the event of a accident, I didn't say it would cause a accident although they may, but more importantly if you are unfortunate enough to have a bump, the Insurance can pick up on this and revoke any policy. Just trying to help, Plus as I have been reliably informed, Car Tyres at 15" are actually 3mm smaller in bead diameter so unless you blow up to about 100psi they will not seal on the rim, and being so tight on the rim can cause explosive results in use. Apparently and FYI 17" is the other way and car tryes are approx 3mm too large in comparrison to motorcycle rims of simmilar diameters.

Hmm, that is why I asked, one person from the states who's better informed than me warned against trying these combos of car / bike tyres / wheels. Apparently it resulted in a bad accident over there. look out sidecar all round fount of knowlege Hal Kendal on the web if you're concerned, in any event ride / drive safely. Nice to see a trike with a difference. Now I've seen the reaction yours has got I might think twice about posting pickys of my 3 wheeler here when it's done. Or maybe I'll post them just to annoy the pureists with the sight of a steering wheel:thumbsu:

The tires & beads were measured from both tires, they were the same dimensions, it may not be the case for all tires & cycle rims but in this instance they matched, The bead sealed fine. The tire has been mounted for 6 months with no loss of air pressure, friends of mine have had car tires mounted on sport bike rims for years without problems. It may not be the norm but it works in this situation. It's running at 40 psi.

I'm pleased to say my trike will be backward as well as packing a steering wheel, won't have reverse unless I go electric though. And to keep those who think such things are a waste of bike parts happy I'll be using almost only bike parts in the build:devil::poke:
