Bought a gixxer 750f lowrider last year as a work in progress thingy, slowly gettin there, but constant runnin/carbs problems.I was told it had a stage 3 dyno, so as it woz runnin rich I checked the jet sizes, and down jetted from 144 to 118. this has cleared the runnin rich prob, but at low revs it runs like a bag of! Its got individual filters, new and a viper end can. Me am thinking maybe a set of 36mm cvs of a j/k as recommended by PDQ is the way to go. any advice would be seriously welcome! Want it runnin sweet for NABD!
Cheers, Andy.

My advice for what its worth .....
1 Go back to standard - how it was when it came out of the factory
2 Up main jets by 10%
In the majority of cases with aftermarket airfilters and exhaust systems this will be sufficient to get it running okay. But you never can beat getting it set up properly on a dyno IMHO.
The motors are the same as the slingshots arent they (ish) ....? If so - you dont want the slabby 750 carbs as they are only 29mms flatsliders as opposed to the 36mms cvs on the later 750s.
Carbs. Eugh.

A wee tip I picked up,if you're running individual (pod) filters remove the float bowl breather tubes (not the overflows). This reduces turbulence and helps fuel flow.

Check what Keith Krause says.I realise this is for a GS thou, but the principle is the same.
