there are two ways
Quaife do a reverse box fit in middle of driveshaft

or there is a way of linking a starter motor to a welded on cog on the shaft or axle
the first costs £600 for box the about £100 notes to get a shaft shortened
the second costs a lot less but requires more creativity

i looked into the starter motor idea a year or so ago, turns out not so good, could end up burning out the starter motor every few months, could prove costly

I've seen one of these fitted to a trike and it certainly looked the business. Very expensive though...

a hefty 12 volt wiper motor with a 50mm rubber faced wheel on it. some brackets and a lever .
pull lever, rubber wheel gets pressed up againt the tyre. gear ratio would be about 12-14 to 1 :D
