ok peeps, the trike totaly cut out on friday, no lights , no feck all,
turns out one of the pos leads from the battery got trapped on the frame,
i have released the lead but the is still no nothing, ALL fuses that i know of are ok.... what else could i have melted to cause total power loss?

Cheers

if you have dead shorted your pos battery lead to the frame for any length of time then it's about 95% certain that your battery has warped its plates and is now a cute door stop.....
even if the reg has gone you would still have power, fuses are effected if you have a short after the fuse sorry :(

What Draken said, more or less guaranteed yer battery is dead. :(

i don't usually advertise batteries as i'm not really competitive on the prices.

but a standard gt750 battery plus a sealed acid pack for filling it as they are shipped dry for obvious reasons would be £22.00 inc nextday delivery :)

Drack do you sell the heavy duty batteries at all or are they a waste of time?

You really shouldn't go out on that trike without my van being nearby. :D

Definately blown yer battery under those circumstances.

I'm surprised there wasn't a warning flash and you were lucky there wasn't an accompanying bang.

If you ever feel the need, :D I can do yer electrics proper once and for all !!!

when the other trike is on the road then this one will be stripped for a full rewire cos its all bits of crap joined together :D

johnny
let me know what the physical size of the battery your after is.
i.e height, width, depth.
i can match those sizes to a higher output battery.
:D

On the trike, the voltage regulator went on the frizz and cooked the battery. I'd bought a heavy duty one from Halfords with a 3 yr guarantee. They changed it for another one, but I did forget to tell'em about the regulator.....

batt size is 165mm x 140mm x 85mm

the 16-18-and 20 amp batteries are larger than the dimensions you give.
there is a possibility that i have a 14 ah one that will fit otherwise it will have to be a 12ah.
the price i stated earlier is for the specified battery for the gt740.

i need the measurments as length, height, width

so is the 165mm the length or the height?

payment can be via "nochex" i send you an invoice via email you fill in the plastic details. you won't need to register with nochex .

almost forgot tom mad biker a gsxr1100k 1990
uses a cb14-la2
£20.00 with acid pack.
but i'm afraid shipping is £6.00 nextday delivery.

like i said i have a job being competitive with batteries. which is why i don't advertise them.

difference between a yb and a cb is the cb is cheaper as it does not have a sensor which is a gimmick anyway
