and a bit more besides.
Look you know the free web space you get with your internet provider? Well I just knocked some stuff together and slapped it up on the WWW.
Some tech stuff, some photos.
This is a link to it:-

Nice site with some good engineering pointers, especially the gusset plates. See a lot of dodgey ones even on manufactured bikes....

nice site, the how to do gussets pics were very clear, should be required reading for anyone building a frame. The metric frame build was good as well, especially the crush tube stuff, it makes me shudder when I see plain holes drilled in frame tubes :( There is a tubemitre program on tony foales site that is pretty good, especially if you take the effort to cut the template out of plastic sheet or thin ally (beer cans) so they are reusable, I find that if you are a degree or two out its is still a better fit than a guesstimate fit (for me at least). It only does center line fits tho, if you know one that will do center line offsets I`d appreciate knowing about it. Also there is a tool for pipe welders (which is basically a profile guage that wraps around a pipe) which is very good indeed, but I don`t know how small it will go. Have you got any more pics of your jig, especially the rear axle clamp?

...............
At one point I had Larry, Harry, and Charlie
Charlie the chopper,
Larry the lowrider,
Harry the Harris.
See, it all makes perfect sense............
Pete,
I believe I have some pics of that, I'll have a nose for them later and if I find them I'll send you some.
Don't ever use tube mitre programs myself, basically because by the time I'd measured it all to input the info, I could probably have cut both the mitres!! Some of the guys at chopperweb.net might though as there seems to be a large cadre of CAD users there.

Languishing at the end of your garden probably!!!
Actually, that's your photo isn't it? I appear to have shamelessly stolen it.
Did I tell you I've moved my workshop?

Spent best part of six hours tonight welding gusset plates to height risers. Fecking things. The other welders don't seem to be able to read a simple drawing. Gusset has triangular hole at base to allow transfer of load, they fecking weld it all in solid. DOH!
