Trike handbrake.

Help needed please.

Does a handbrake on a trike need to be manual to pass an MOT?

A friend of mine has imported a trike from the US and it has an electronic hand brake and has failed the MOT as a result.

yes mechanical not hidraulic..mine failed 2yr ago bcause ov latter reason.

Can be rod or cable operated as long as the system is mechanical and seperate from the main braking (Service) system.
