Hi there everyone.
I'm 43, currently living in the Philippines with my wife and 11month old daughter and basicaly just trying to scrape a crust out here. I've been modifying and building cars and bikes for as long as I remember, and when I moved out here 5 years ago, I carried on the hobby. I'm a mechanic by trade but also do welding & fab in any metals, (the locals still cant work out how my TIG works). I was also an MOT tester for 15 years so been around a bit. We are planning to move back to the UK in a year or so, so I'm trying to keep up with whats happening.
It is great out here if you want to drive anything modified. The annual test consists of a quick sniff of the exhaust. and you can get anything registered with a little bribe. No lighting regs, no tyre regs, in short......NO REGS !!!!! The driving test is great too. I had to answer 60 multi-guess questions (60% to pass) to get my class 1 hgv licence, (no practical test at all !!!). They said my UK class 1 was not good enough over here!!!!!!!

Welcome to the forum, hope you get what you want.

Britain is not doing so well at the moment with houses selling for £250,000 and up rents are in the £100 per week bracket and jobs are scarce.

If you are white don't expect to get on the dole because you won't have enough stamps..(weeks of work during the past year) and don't expect to get a council house because you haven't lived here long enough...

Found all this out when I came back from New Zealand.

I've got to say, if you can cope with a life of relaxing, chilling out, drinking and smoking this is paradise. The beer is about 30p a bottle (nasty largerie stuff) and fags are 15p a packet. Thats right, you can actually afford to get lung cancer over here (I know I'll have to stop smoking when I come back !!!).
Oh yes, and while Britain was under snow the average noon temperature over here was 42 degrees (thats celcius not farenheight).
And last but not least, (for the single blokes) the women over here are very attractive!!! plus they keep the house spotless, wash your clothes and make sure there is always a meal on the table for you. AND 100% faithful !!!

Welcome. Just catching up on stuff on here as been away for a short while. The UK is in the middle of a depression - is run by arse bandit public schoolboys who take your taxes and house their boyfriends in secret with your money. They are mates with bankers who are payed massive bonuses for doing fuck all whilst the rest of us who have lots to offer (I was in the construction industry) struggle between agency work. Moreover, we have a war on our hands which our brave men and women are trying to fight with second rate equipment. We have massive unemployment, you cant say anything about muslims or jews without being accused of inciting racial hatred. I agree with what others have said. Better of with your tasty women, cheap beer and fags and wait till this place is a better place to live. And yes, I am a Patriot. I just hate whats being done to my country as its as much mine as those who are supposed to run it for the good of us. I'm hoping this recession/depression is on an upturn by the time I'm ready to come back. Thinking back, one of the reasons I left was that I am patriotic, but there was nothing left to be patriotic about. The Britain I was born into and grew up in was gone. I was a foreigner in my own country. I was working my arse off to try and make a future for myself when there were people around me of every creed and colour doing fuck all and spending more money than I could earn, all on the taxes that us working minority were paying. And as you said, you couldn't say this to anyone because to do so was breaking the law, the very laws that were supposed to protect US. As I've said, I've been away for 5 years and I've not seen whats happening but back then I said we were getting ready for a revolution. If it's only getting worse, then that day can't be far away. The problem I foresaw then was that we, (those of us of truly British origin) were being disarmed and legislated against so that if the shit did hit the fan we would be out-numbered and unable to defend ourselves or fight back. Here's an example for you, We have a 9 acre farm over here, all fenced in to keep theiving scrotes out. If someone gets in and threatens my family in any way, I can shoot them. Thats not shoot over their heads to scare them off or even shoot them through the leg to slow them down. It means I am perfectly within my rights to give them a round of 12gauge slug straight through the chest, a one way ticket to the promised land. Thats my right in a foreign country, so why the fuck couldn't I defend my own property back in Britain. It's all fucked up!!!!!! What can I say, COME THE REVOLUTION !!!!
