Hi at the Trike forums, I am a bike riding, Trike building, Heli flying plant operator from Scotland and VERY new to this type of thing. Please be kind to this newbie. I may, like some other newbies, muck things up a bit but I'm a tryer so i'll get there in the end. I am just trying to finish my Trike made from a Suzuki GS850G shaftie and have had it for a DVLA inspection 'cos I wanted to keep the reg number but was told by the examiner that because it has had the frame cut at the rear shock mounts and the Reliant axle bolted to the additional framework I have added that it will have to have an MSVA and subsequent "Q" plate. BUGGER!!!. never mind, as long as I can ride it after all the hassle then I don't mind. (much). It has the usual reliant axle (unshortened), 17" alloys/tyres, VW golf calipers and handbrake cables with lever, Nova discs with the Reliant flanges machined to allow the discs to fit easy. All the front end from the original shock mounts forward is Totally GS850. I fitted a 2 full face hat top box and stainless steel mudguards. Hazards and front marker lights are in place and fully functional. I hope this forum will be able to help me get through the MSVA when I get my test time through. I need info on things like correct brake and fuel pipe fitting details and spacing for mounting clips etc. and does the machine need to be painted for the test and some other things I need to ask about at a later date. Thanks for looking and keep on the black stuff. cheers, fixit58:thumbsu::leaving:

I had exactly the same problem with my Suzi 1400 trike. Bought it as an unregistered hardtail, and was told it would have to go through MSVA. I didn't fancy that, (I heard that having a "Q" plate knocks £1000 off the price when you sell the trike on), so I bought a swing arm and I'm having that refitted. Still loads of other stuff to do as well .....rear mudguards and electrics, handbrake, new rear shocks needed; the exhausts are way too loud, so they'll have to go........

Oh, and welcome to the forum BTW!

Dunno about that, but I've never heard of it devaluing 'em either so ... :)
