What is the easyest way to cut or reshape fibre glass ?

i use a 2mm cutoff disc air tool.
mask both sides of the grp where you intend cutting it.
if you using a disc ensure you only allow the edge of the disc to appear on the other side. or you run the risk chipping the laminate.

always wear eye protection plus a breathing mask as the dust is very nasty.
if using an air powered cutter you can have water spraying on the work to cut down the dust.
or if using electric have someone with a vacuum cleaner nozzle close to the work.
you can sand the cut edges using standard wet and dry paper, always sand away from the gelcoat.

One thing I hated when cutting up the wrecked body of the rialto 2 with an angle grinder was the flamin dust!!!! even with mask I've had a gunky chest/lungs.... it iritates my skin and my eyes were gritty (even having worn goggles) it gets everywhere!

try gettin ya hands on oscillator one ov them things they use to cut plaster casts off in ospital..that,s the best tool to use..very little dust..failin that 115mm grinder with very thin cuttin disc wot they use for for cuttin stainless with..very little after work if ya use these i use it all the time cuttin upto 4mm thick g,r,p....

Thanks guys,just making enquiries as hoping to put different seat on the General in winter and wasn't sure how to reshape so that it fits round the tank. :p
