Various bike/sidecars I've had over the years have ended up with small wheels and leading links but the only way I found to stop wandering and white-lining with a car tyre on the front was to increase the trail back to the solo figure or more. So, I got straight line stability back :) but also the heavy steering :(
I had a set of links with an adjustable length (front) swinging arm and adjustable top mounts for the spring/dampers to try out changes in rake and trail, and tried various makes of car tyres in 125x15, 135x15, 145x15 and 145x14 and various 16", 18" and 19" bike tyres - all the bike tyres, unlike the car tyres were more or less unaffected by white lines, overbanding, road repairs etc (but just wore out far too quick!)
So, the question is do trikes have similar wandering handling with car front tyres or is it just an outfit thing?
