Hmmm. this is a weird one for me, only working on a small twin cylinder bike... worse still, a Honda (oh alright, they're not sooooo bad really, I've had a few, including a CX500!!!)

sprog's CM125, just put it back together, as per the haynes book of lies (which funnily enough doesn't tell you how to do this bit), put the single carb back together (as I thought it should be), started the engine and the bike started to rev its nuts off!

Can anyone help meeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeee?
What have I done wrong??????

what a thicko!!!

Forgot to align the throttle valve assembly so it went into the groove (baby!) properly, hence it being at the top of the carb when the throttle was opened!

Phew! that would have been embarraskin'! :D

What sort of mileage are we lookin' at?

Don't want to shatter sprog's illusiory state - that his step-dad can fix bikes!!!

He's off to Oz by th'end of the year so may be selling the bike to some other mug (ahem!!... I meant happy punter :D )

just make sure the cam oil feeds are clean / clear - mine wernt and trashed cam end bearings.

iirc the oil pump goes from the righ side, into the outer casing, up the right side of the block (up a head bolt) into the end of the cam, along the cam, into the other end - migth split before this and go into both ends at the same time... it was 15 years ago
